On Thursday 2nd July 2009 we held our induction day for our new year 7 pupils starting in September.
The aim of our induction day is to allow new pupils to
- Meet the Headteacher - Mr Crowther - and other senior members of staff;
- Meet Mrs King, their Head of Year;
- Spend time with their form tutor in their tutor groups, asking any questions that need answering;
- Meet fellow students and develop friendships;
- Familiarise themselves with the school buildings;
- Get to know their buddies who will be their for new pupils in September.
Throughout the day various activities were undertaken and pupils were made to feel at ease very quickly. There was an added bonus of a complimentary free dinner at lunchtime for those that wanted it. At the end of the day pupils met Mr Crowther for a question and answer session in the Sports Hall.
All in all the day was a success; Mrs King and her team of form tutors were very pleased with the pupils and are very much looking forward to meeting them again in September.
