Mrs J Jones - SuccessMaker Manager
SuccessMaker is a computer based learning system for students of all abilities. It has been developed to help children improve their numerical and literacy skills by allowing students to progress through the course at their own pace. The different courses SuccessMaker offers will cover all students’ abilities and needs. SuccessMaker automatically tracks the individual student’s progress and highlights any areas of concern.
Students in sets 4 and 5 in years 7 and 8 are timetabled to use the SuccessMaker suite three times a week for 25 minute sessions. During this time they will work on three courses: English (which includes grammar and comprehension), Spelling, and Mathematics. SuccessMaker is timetabled to take place during all curriculum subjects except Art, PE and DT and is organised to minimise any possible disruption to these subjects, with only one lesson per fortnight for any one group.
Year 9 students can use SuccessMaker in their free time by attending SuccessMaker Clubs which run before school in the Breakfast Club, during break-time, and after school (see below).
Year 10 and 11: SuccessMaker is available for use during their free time.
